Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley expressed support to the idea that young players should be developed in NBA system, G League to be precise. He reacted on Twitter to a quote by the G League President and former NBA player Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

“The NBA is the best development system in the world, and those players shouldn’t have to go somewhere else to develop for a year. They should be in our development system,” Abdur-Rahim said per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

While agreeing with the notion that the NBA has the best development system in the world, Dudley pointed at a potential danger of young players slipping in draft due after going to play against professionals who are also trying to make it to the NBA.

The subject of young players skipping college and choosing the professional path instead surfaced after a top highschool prospect Jalen Green chose the G League route.
