Jason Collins revealed that he was floored by the coronavirus nine days after he tested positive. Namely, the former NBA player checked in hospital the next day fearing a heart attack as the tightness in his chest was overwhelming.

“It felt like I got punched by Mike Tyson. Like Mike Tyson in his prime, right in the heart,” Collins told the Daily News. “And all the feeling that was associated with that.”

“It was definitely the sickest I’ve ever been in my life,” Collins noted. Collins has played in the NBA for 13 seasons and he experienced the virus unpredictability despite being just 41 years old.

Fortunately, the former Nets’ player fully recovered after a 2,5-week ordeal expressing his gratidude to the medical staff, who calmed him and helped him recover during his stay at the hospital.
