NBA legend Stephon Marbury thinks Derrick Rose is still successful on the court despite not having the ‘ultra-athleticism’ that he used to have. According to Marbury, the former NBA MVP kept all of his game elements that make him good.

This season, Rose is averaging 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game for the Detroit Pistons. The 31-year-old point guard was linked with the Los Angeles Lakers before the trade deadline, but he has personally expressed the desire to remain in Detroit and eventually the agreement was not reached.

Per Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson of Heavy.com:

“I mean, he looks like himself without the ultra-athleticism. But everything is intact. His short mid-range pull up, his floaters, his left hand and right hand, his speed to the basket, using his first step – getting guys to go lateral while he’s in the continuance of going forward with his herky-jerky moves…he’s just doing the things that he normally does. I think he’s a lot more mature with his game, he has his style, he knows his style and he understands where he wants to go on the court.”
