The future of the NBA, due to the coronavirus, is still unknown. New York Knicks, therefore, already think about the 2020 free agents. Next summer could see teams paying excessively for role players or securing unprecedented deals.

One of the players the Knicks believe will distinguish the group is Detroit Pistons’ Christian Wood. Wood has capitalized on Blake Griffin’s injury absence by playing his best NBA season to date. According to SNY’s Ian Begley, some members of the Knicks front office are in love with Wood’s skills and potential: “Although it’s too early to know who they’re going to turn to, it’s worth noting that some in the Knicks front office are in love with Detroit’s Christian Wood. According to a source, New York had monitored Wood for much of the season before the coronavirus epidemic. This tells you that Wood is on the Knicks radar.”
