The Euroleague draw has just finished, and the two Greek teams, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, seem to have an easy job on the first round of the competition The draw took place in Barcelona and everybody waited for the results with excitement and anxiety.
However, for Olympiacos, things turned out to be very favourable, since they will be part of the third group, alongside Montepaschi Siena, Malaga, Galatasaray, Zielona Gora and Bayern Munich.
The group will be quite easy and the European Champions need to be concentrated because what really matters is which place they will acquire since it is must be taken for granted that they will make it to the next round from each group, 4 teams out of 6 proceed to top 16.
On the other side, Panathinaikos has to face slightly better opponents.The lottery has shown that the “Greens” will play to the fourth group, and they will face Maccabi Tel Aviv, Caja Laboral, Locomotiv Moscow, Red Star and the winner from the Qualifying Round. Panathinaikos must be well prepared for these games and try to climb as high as possible to the Group table, in order to have an easier job at the Top 16.
