CJ McCollum said he would be interested in a play-in tournament that would determine the qualification for the 2020 playoffs.

The NBA could decide to cancel the remainder of its regular season and create a play-in tournament for lower-seeded teams to advance to the postseason, per Jabari Young of CNBC

For his part, the superstar of the Portland Trail Blazers is interested in that scenario, however he needs to see first how the tournament would be structured.

“It depends on how the tournament is structured. I can’t say I would be happy with it or that I think it’s the right thing. I’d have to see how it’s structured. I think logistically, the NBA is in a position to experiment with many potential solutions,” McCollum told Young.

Prior to the NBA suspension, the Blazers were 3.5 games back of the Memphis Grizzlies for the 8th and final playoff spot in the West.
