FIBA announced that Australia award the hosting right for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022.
Australia and Russia were the two finalists bidding for the high-profile tournament.
As a result, decision was taken via conference call having both federations submit their presentation to the Central Board.
Australia will host the competition for the second time, having done so in 1994. Furthermore, Australia most populous city Sydney will host the event over 10 days in September and October 2022.
