Gregg Popovich commented on the decision of the Brooklyn Nets to part ways with head coach Kenny Atkinson.
The head coach of the San Antonio Spurs had nothing but good words to say about Atkinson and his coaching abilities, adding he hopes Atkinson would land on his feet with another team in the near future.
“He did a good job. His work ethic is off the charts. He did a good job taking them to the next step. Hopefully someone else will realize he’s a very talented young man,” Popovich told reporters, via James Rapien of the radio station 92.3 The Fan.
Atkinson and the Nets mutually agreed to part ways on Saturday. It has been reported that Atkinson had lost his players’ confidence.
