Allison McNeill has stepped down as head coach of the Canadian national side after 11 years at the helm.

McNeill, who guided Canada to a quarter-final finish at the London Olympics has decided to spend more time with her sick father and brother-in-law.

“Right now, this is the most important thing to me, and it always has been,” she said of her family during a conference call.

Canada Basketball’s President and CEO Wayne Parrish said to the media that they will start looking foor a new coach and will look both in and out of Canada.
