The Golden State Warriors were not thrilled when reports surfaced that Stephen Curry would return to action on March 1.

Curry has been out of action since October 30, after breaking his left hand and undergoing surgery. However, it is likely he will return to the lineup of the Warriors on Thursday, when Golden State hosts the defending champions Toronto Raptors.

“Curry has been itching to come back. He privately targeted this game against the Washington Wizards as his return to the court and has been preparing as such behind the scenes.

Whispers about the March 1 target date reached the public in mid-January and when reports surfaced a week ago that Curry would come back March 1, the Warriors weren’t exactly thrilled,” Tom Haberstroh of NBC Sports reports.

The Warriors have the worst record in the NBA, at 14-48.
