A distinctive tourist attraction, the Postojna Cave, a famous 20,570 metre long Karst cave system near the Slovenian city by the same name, has been chosen by the Local Organising Committee to host the EuroBasket 2013 Draw ceremony on 18 November.

The cave was first described in the 17th century and has seen more than 34 million visitors in the last 200 years, making it the most visited cave in Europe and Slovenia’s biggest tourist attraction.

In the cool environment of 8°-10° C, the delegates of the 24 participating teams and invited guests will take the underground train to the spectacular concert hall.

The concert hall can hold up to 10,000 people and previously set the stage for world famous acts such as the La Scala theatre from Milan.

The 24 participating teams will be drawn into four groups of six and the groups will then be allocated to their first round venues Jesenice, Koper, Celje and Hala Tivoli in Ljubljana.

The state of the art Stozice Arena in the capital city Ljubljana will host both the Second and Final Round.

EuroBasket 2013 will take place from 4-22 September.

Two lucky winners of the Facebook draw predictor will also be among the invited guest, who will walk in the footsteps of Kings, Queens and Presidents from all over the World who have set foot in Postojna cave before.
