CSKA Moscow have won their first trophy of the 2012/13 season after lifting the BEKO Leagues Cup in Germany.

After defeating hosts Bayern Munich 87-66 in the semi-finals, the Russian champions then went on to comfortably dispatch of Turkish side Besiktas in the final game 85-60 to take the BEKO Cup to Moscow.

Sasha Kaun led the victors with 14 points, supported by Aaron Jackson, Nenad Krstic and Drew Nicholas, who all got 11 points. Vladirmir Dasic grabbed a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds but to no avail.

Zalgiris Kaunas finished the tournament in third after they beat Bayern 74-58 in the earlier game. After leading 43-30 at half-time, Zalgiris extended their advantage further in the third and never looked back.

Marko Popovic led the Lithuanians with 11 points.

CSKA Moscow, Besiktas and Zalgiris will all feature in this season’s Euroleague.
