One of the most powerful centers in the game is set to keep playing the Turkish Airlines Euroleague after FC Barcelona Regal announced the signing of big man Nathan Jawai to a one-year deal.

Jawai (2.07 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Unics Kazan, where he averaged 7.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15 Euroleague games last season. He boosted his averages to 14 points on 64.3% two-point shooting and 7.3 rebounds in three playoffs games against Barcelona.

He ranked second in the playoffs in per-minute scoring (24.9 points per 40 minutes) and third in rebounding per 40 minutes (13.1). For the season Jawai was fifth in rebounding per 40 minutes (12.3).

Jawai had a strong Euroleague debut season with Partizan Belgrade in the 2010-11 season, in which he helped Partizan win the Adriatic League, Serbian League and Serbian Cup crowns. Before joining Partizan, Jawai spent two seasons in North America, suiting up for Minnesota and Toronto in the NBA and Sioux Falls and Idaho in the D League.

He made his debut in 2005 with the Queensland Under-20 team and also played that season with the Southern Dictrict Spartans and the Australian Institute of Sport. Jawai spent the 2007-08 season with the Cairns Taipans and was named Rookie of the Year in the Aussie League after posting 17.7 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
