The Boston Celtics announced that they will retire Kevin Garnett’s number next season. Garnett led Boston to its first title in the new century, playing along Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in 2007-2008 season.

After the announcement, the “Big Ticket” expressed his gratitude to the Celtics’ organization.

“I’m honored and thankful to have my number retired with the Celtics. I will always have immense respect and appreciation for ownership, Danny Ainge, Doc Rivers, my past teammates and Celtic Nation!”
