Emporio Armani Milano prevented a sweep tonight after defeating Montepaschi Siena 88-83 in game 4 of Lega A finals, forcing a fifth game in the series.

Italian forward Stefano Mancinelli was the MVP of the match with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists well seconded by Bourousis with 19 points and 4 rebounds who helped Milano to claim their first win in these finals after three straight losses in this title series.

The hosts started the game awfulling, losing the first quarter 12-24 with Stonerook and Bo McClaeb leading the way with outside shots and a fast paced offense. In the second quarter shots started to fall for Milano, and they went to halftime only losing by 4 with a 33-37 on the scoreboard.

In the second half it was all about offense in Armani’s side, especially in the third quarter. With an 11-0 run in the first 4.30m, Milano took the lead and never look back keeping the game in control until the last two minutes when Montepaschi showed why they won last three games, and probably will proclaim the title this year again, but it wasn’t enough this time.

After being fouled in a 3 point shot, Omar Cook scored the first two free throws but missed the third where Antonis Fotsis grab the rebound and was fouled when Siena still had one foul to give. Milano inbounded the ball with 86-83 and Hairston was fouled to go shot a pair of free throws where he seal the deal.

On the side of the losing squad, Bo McCalebb led the way with 18 points and Lavrinovic put a good performance scoring 17. Both teams were tremendous shooting from 2 points and free throws, but missing most of the three pointers (Siena attempted 17).

Game 5 will be on Sunday.
