Panathinaikos came from behind to edge bitter rivals Olympiacos 71-70 and win the Greek Cup for the 13th time.

This victory ended a two-year reign for the Reds as they slumped to the Euroleague champions for the second time this season. For the Greens, they got a measure of revenge for their 78-77 defeat in mid-February.

Veteran Lithuanian guard Surunas Jasikevicius was named MVP of a low-scoring final, as he posted 10 points and grabbed three assists. Romain Sato, who was also in the running for the award hit 10 points himself and pulled down six rebounds.

It was the Greens who started the brighter, leading 25-17 after the first period, but Olympiacos hit back in the second half of play, going on an 11-0 run to lead by 13 (45-58).

Panathinaikos though had other ideas as they muscled their way back to take the lead at 70-68, forcing their rivals to commit eight turnovers and five in a row. Giorgos Printezis tied the game for Olympiacos, but the game was settled by a single free throw from Dimitris Diamantidis. Kostas Papanikolaou had a chance to snatch it, but his last-gasp three-pointer rimmed out.

Printezis led all scorers in vain for the Reds with 17 points.
