We’ve only just reached the first day of Feburary 2012 and already we have our ‘dunk of the year’. Los Angeles Clippers’ forward Blake Griffin slamming on Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kendrick Perkins.

Such is the uproar that many people have speculated that Perkins deleted his Twitter account after the game.

The dunk, similar to last season’s slam on New York Knicks’ Timofey Mozgov has completely overshadowed LeBron James’ dunk over Chicago’s John Lucas the night before. And it has caused players, fans, journalists and bloggers to invade Twitter and make their feelings known about that dunk.

It is LeBron who gets the tweet of the day regarding his comments on Griffin’s monster slam.

If there are any that we missed, please feel free to add them on the comments below.
