Kyrie Irving believes the Brooklyn Nets need one or two more pieces in order to become a top contender in the NBA.

“I mean, it’s transparent. It’s out there, it’s glaring, in terms of the pieces we need in order to be at the next level.

I feel like we have great pieces, but it’s pretty glaring that we need one more piece or two more pieces that will [complement] myself, KD, DJ [Deandre Jordan], GT [Garrett Temple], Spence[r Dinwiddie], Caris [LeVert], and we’ll see how that evolves,” Irving said, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

The Nets lost to the Philadelphia 76ers (117-106), suffering their ninth defeat in the last 11 games.

They are now eighth in the East, with an 18-22 record.
