The fight against leukemia dance was performed at the halftime of the EuroLeague match between Anadolu Efes and Khimki Moscow to raise awareness of stem cell donation.

Performed within the scope of the awareness project “Leukemia has a cure” initiated by the Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma Society (LLMBİR) in 2019, the dance got a big round of applause from thousands of basketball fans.

Buğra Gülsoy, Kaan Urgancıoğlu, Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu, Cansu Tosun and Pınar Deniz said ‘If it’s leukemia, then there is a cure’ (Lösemi ise Bir Çaresi Var) in the awareness film shown before the dance show choreographed by Def Dance Academy Salim Sınar under the leadership of project supporter and artist Hasan Yalnızoğlu.

The Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma Patients Research and Education Society (LLMBİR) president Prof. Dr. Muhit Özcan emphasized the importance of becoming a national donor rather than making individual-specific donations.

Underlining the need to become a national donor to save a life today without waiting for someone we love to get sick and regardless of who, Özcan said “today you can be a cure and bear in mind that you may become helpless tomorrow. You may suddenly find yourself on the other side of the table.”

“Leukemia has a cure” message from famous actors!

The fight against leukemia dance took place at the halftime of the match between Anadolu Efes and Khimki Moscow in the 17th week of the EuroLeague to raise awareness of stem cell donation.

In the awareness film shown before the dance, the artists Buğra Gülsoy, Kaan Urgancıoğlu, Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu, Cansu Tosun and Pınar Deniz said ‘Leukemia has a cure’.

While the performance was welcomed with great support and enthusiasm by the audience, Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma Patients Research and Education Society (LLMBİR) president Prof. Dr. Muhit Özcan underlined that leukemia has been ingrained in people’s minds in Turkey as an incurable disease.

He highlighted that brighter days will be experienced for the treatment of this dreadful disease with the developments in every field over the past 50 years.
