Aris’ players have not been paid in months and decided not to show up in Friday afternoon’s practice session.
More specifically the Greek players of the club have not received a single salary since the start of the season, while many of the players that were with Aris since last season are owed money from last season.
Head Coach Vaggelis Alexandris talked with the players and concluded that this was a necessary measure in order to put pressure on the club owners.
Aris are currently struggling in the Greek A1 league, laying in 10th place with a 3-6 record. They have advanced however to the Last 16 of the EuroCup.
