The bids to host the Olympic Qualifying Tournament have been announced today as seven countries from three continents look to stage the event that determines the final three spots for London 2012.

Either Angola, FYR of Macedonia, Lithuania or Venezuela will scoop the prize to host the men’s tournament, while Argentina, Czech Republic or Turkey will contest the women’s side.

The men’s tournament begins on 2nd July through until the 8th July, while the women’s event runs from 25th June until the 1st July.

The Olympic Qualifying Tournament originally began in 1960 but it discontinued in 1992. They continued on though in 2008.

The 12 teams for the men’s Qualifying are: Lithuania, Russia, FYR of Macedonia, Greece, Angola, Dominican Republic, Jordan, Korea, New Zealand, Nigeria, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

The women’s tournament will have: Argentina, Canada, Cuba, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Japan, Korea, Mali, New Zealand, Senegal and Turkey.
