NBA Hall of Famer and Eurobasket 2011 ambassador, Arvydas Sabonis has been rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack.

According to a report from Sportlas.lt, Sabonis was playing with friends at the time when the incident happened.

The former Portland Trailblazers center was rushed to hospital for care and monitoring. It has been confirmed that the Lithuanian will spend at least a week in hospital.

Sabonis’ agent has stated that it was a “light” heart attack and that the 46-year-old is “out of danger”.

Sabonis, from Kaunas, Lithuania was not known to be dealing with any major health problems leading up to his heart attack.

7-foot-3 Sabonis was just recently inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame and was the ambassador for a highly successful Eurobasket tournament in Lithuania, which concluded nearly ten days ago.
