Sacramento Kings All-Star center Domantas Sabonis is set to switch to the No. 11 jersey for the upcoming 2024-2025 NBA season, honoring the legendary career of Hall of Famer Bob Davies, known as the “Harrisburg Houdini.”

The move comes with the blessing of Davies’ family, who expressed their pride in their father’s legacy and shared their appreciation for the Sabonis family’s special connection to the number 11.

Sabonis, who has worn No. 11 throughout his career as a tribute to his father Arvydas Sabonis, expressed gratitude to the Davies family for allowing him to continue wearing the iconic number on the Kings jersey.

Sacramento Kings General Manager Monte McNair hailed the partnership with the Davies family as an exciting next chapter for Sabonis and his family, underscoring Bob Davies’ status as a franchise legend.

Bob Davies, a four-time All-Star and pivotal figure in the Rochester Royals’ 1951 NBA Championship, is remembered for his outstanding contributions to the game of basketball and his influence on future generations.

Sabonis, a three-time All-Star and versatile big man, has thrived with the Kings, showcasing his prowess on both ends of the court and earning recognition as one of the league’s top performers.

In the 2023-24 NBA season, Sabonis distinguished himself as a dominant force, posting 19.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game.
