The Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Damian Lillard thought it was wrong how forward Carmelo Anthony ‘was kind of almost pushed out of the league:’

“The way that he was kind of almost pushed out of the league, I thought that was wrong. So the fact that he’s come back and he’s on our team now, it’s a great opportunity for us to be a part of his bounce back, a great story for a Hall of Fame player. And then he gets here and your respect for him as a person makes that even more important. He didn’t come in and you can tell he’s not trying to walk on eggshells and be a certain person so it works out, he’s like naturally been himself. I respect it,” Lillard said, per Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com.

Through eight games this season, Anthony has been averaging 16.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.6 steals per game, while shooting at 44.8% from the field.
