The Leicester Riders can announce today that they have brought back New York native and former Rider, Bradd Wierzbicki, for the 2011/12 season.

Wierzbicki first joined the Leicester Riders in 2008 where he stayed for two highly successful seasons before he moved a short distance across Europe to Spain where he continued his playing career for La Coruna.

The high volume scoring guard is welcomed back with open arms by Riders coach, Rob Paternostro, who has first hand experience of what Wierzbicki brings to the table and feels confident that with him on board, the Riders will become a more dangerous outfit:

“Number one thing I want to say is that we’re happy to have Bradd back. It’s nice to have a guy who knows the way we play here, knows the program and experienced two successful years here previously. The important thing about Bradd is that he’s not just a shooter, he’s a scorer and by adding him to the team, we’re strengthening our perimeter play further”.

The scoring that Paternsotro is referring to is what made Wierzbicki such a hit during his last stint in Leicester and by adding him to a back court that already boasts Cameron Rundles and John Griffin III, the Leicester Riders are sending a message to the rest of the league that this year more than any other, they mean business.
