The Leicester Riders welcome back to the club, former GB international guard Flinder Boyd, today as they look to put the finishing touches to a squad already brimming with new faces ahead of the 2011-12 season.
Boyd rejoins the team he began his BBL career with back in 2008-9 as current Riders Coach and the man who gave him his first start in England, Rob Paternostro, saw the opportunity of acquiring a talent like Boyd too much to pass up:
“Last time Flinder was with us, we really respected the way he played the game. He’s a team player who plays hard 100% of the time in both practice and in games. And with the effort and hard work that the guys already here have shown, he (Boyd) is going to be a good fit.”
Boyd is likely to see some playing time at the John Sandford Sports Centre tonight as the Leicester Riders meet Leeds Carnegie in the final pre-season game.
