The career of Martynas Pocius is set to continue in Spain after the athletic 25-year-old guard/forward agreed terms with Real Madrid. Lithuanian international spent the past two years with Zalgiris.

Pocius was still under contract with Lithuanian champions as he joined the club on 2+1-year contract in the summer of 2009. However, there was a clause allowing the player to leave for a buy-out.

Real Madrid has already paid a buy-out to secure the services of another Zalgiris player, Mirza Begic back in January.

Various sources suggest that the amount of money to be paid by the Spanish club for Pocius is 700,000 euros. Though the player will have to cover a part of that amount by paying out of his own pocket.

It is reported that Pocius will have to pay around 300,000 euros himself. This amount will be included in his new contract with Real Madrid though. Pocius averaged 10.9 points per game for Zalgiris in Euroleague last season.
