Igor Kokoskov is expected to become the new head coach of the national team of Serbia, according to Direktno.

Per the report, which cites sources close to the Serbian Basketball Federation, Kokoskov has agreed to a deal with the team, which will be made official soon.

Direktno also reports that the 47-year-old coach, who currently is an assistant coach in the Sacramento Kings, has been granted permission by his team to take over Serbia.

The head coach position in the national team remains vacant after the decision of Sasha Djordjevic to leave the squad after the end of the 2019 Basketball World Cup.

Kokoskov led Slovenia to the gold medal in the 2017 EuroBasket.
