Ten-time NBA All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony has agreed with the Portland Trail Blazers to a non-guaranteed deal on Thursday. Following the news, the Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James gave a vote of confidence to his 2003 Draft rival:

“I don’t think about the naysayers. But obviously there’s going to be some motivation now. He belongs in this league. I’m happy the Blazers gave him an opportunity. He’ll make the most of it.”

Anthony last played in the NBA for the Houston Rockets on Nov. 8, 2018. He appeared in 10 games averaging 13.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per contest.
