Cajasol won the last game at home (98-75) against grupo capitol valladolid with five players scoring ten or more points. Great show by Paul Davis.

It was a strange afternoon in Seville. Valladolid came to play a do-or-die game, forced to win to get the last playoff spot, while Cajasol had nothing to win. And despite of this, the local team played one of the best games in the whole season and, surprisingly, the visitor team could do nothing against it.

Moving the ball fast, with a great scoring touch, Cajasol played like an unstoppable machine against one of the (until yesterday) best teams in the league. Paul Davis had his day: no foul troubles, no lacks of concentration… everything went perfect. Only the referees tried to add pressure to the game calling some unseen technical fouls (up to three in the first quarter).

On the other side, Valladolid seemed not being so good playing with that pressure: to be or not to be in the playoff. they proved to be a team with a small winning desire, because Cajasol always controlled the game, getting to lead the game by 26 in the third quarter. Strange situation: local players having fun with nothing to lose, while the guests felt even more depressed with every missed shot.

In the end, easy win for cajasol, finishing the season in style and playing great basketball. What a waste not being able to reach playoffs, but it was a good season anyway after the team played a european final. We will see how the team managers work in summer and if next year the team is even stronger than this one.
