Timofey Mozgov mentioned that David Blatt is one of the best head coaches he ever had in his basketball career.

Here is what the Russian center said in an interview with The Jerusalem Post:

“The most important thing I learned from Coach Blatt is that you always have to stay positive.

He always stressed that it doesn’t matter how the game goes, win or lose, but you have to be true to the game and the game will then be true to you. That’s exactly the principles he coached and has lived by throughout his entire life.

I think he is one of the best coaches that I have ever been associated with, so it’s just very hard for me to see him in his current situation right now.

We spent a lot of time together and he’s a part of me. In essence he is part of me and he has a very big place in my heart.

He gave me a chance to show myself to the world and play basketball. He always believed in me and was always just so nice. He’s just a good guy and it’s tough to see him in his current situation.”

Blatt, who parted ways with Olympiacos on Sunday (06/10), has been dealing with primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS). He coach Mozgov in the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Russian national team.
