In an appearance on HOT 97’s Ebro in the Morning, a radio show based in New York City, the now-Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant was asked about the Thunder and Warriors fans’ reactions to his departures:

On leaving OKC: “At first I didn’t even know people cared that much, especially in Oklahoma City. Once I felt that reaction I was like, ‘I must be a damn good basketball player’ – that’s what I thought. It was weird seeing people react to me moving and changing teams, but that’s the nature of sports.”

On leaving Warriors: “Nah, I didn’t really feel it too much. I felt like some Warriors fans were a little disappointed that it ended like that and wished it could have went longer, but it wasn’t that type of reaction.”

This past season, the 31-year-old averaged 26.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
