ImageTalkBasket’s friend, Chris Denker, of www.netscoutsbasketball.com reports the latest signing of American players from all around the world, mainly concentrating on Europe.

Turkey – Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) guard Tarence Kinsey (South Carolina) has opted to sign with Euroleague and Turkish League contender Fenerbahce Ulker.  The 200cm/86kg guard, Kinsey, played for Fenerbahce two years ago and enjoyed success with the team and brings NBA playoff experience back to Europe.

Oyak Renault Bursa signed Gonzaga Bulldogs Center Josh Heytvelt.  The 211cm Zags big man is a very good European prospect as he shoots the ball extremely well from the perimeter and runs the floor well.  He was not selected in the NBA Draft but played for the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Russia – BC Khimki Moscow Region addressed a vacancy at the swing guard position by signing veteran Sergey Toporov from Triumph Lyubertsy. Toporov (198cm SF/SG) will see significant playing time due to the loss of Argentina National Team and NBA player Carlos Delfino who recently returned to the NBA and his old team, the Toronto Raptors, only to be traded (in a “sign and trade deal”) to the Milwaukee Bucks along with Roko Ukic in exchange for Amir Johnson and Sonny Weems.  BC Khimki has moved up to the Euroleague this season after a strong Eurocup finish last year.

Poland – Another former Raptor, Pape Sow (Cal St. Fullerton) signed with Prokom in Poland.  The 208cm/113kg Center has been with Prokom before and was last with Armani Jeans (Olimpia) Milano in Italy.

Greece – AEK Athens signed Florida Gator National Champion PG Taurean Green.  Green has bounced around the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, and in the NBADL. He played with Zaragosa in Spain last year.

In other international basketball signings:

South Korea – Gary Wilkinson, the 208cm PF from Utah State who led his team through the WAC and into the NCAA Tournament signed with Dongbu Promy. Wilkinson is a versatile big guy who can score and should do well in Korea.

Also from the NBA Summer League, NBAD-League Select player Will Frisby (203cm/107kg, Miami) has signed to play in Portugal for Benfica.

Great Britain – The Glasgow Rocks (Scotland) of the BBL have been busy and signed Jessie Sapp (190cm, SG) from Georgetown.  He joins player/coach Sterling Davis (Tulane) and new signee Mike Copeland of North Carolina.
