Israeli national team head coach Zvika Sherf has announced 17 players that will start preparations for the Eurobasket 2009 in Poland. The list includes both Lior Elyahu and Omri Casspi. The participation of Sacramento Kings draftee Omri Casspi is doubtful but the coach expects him to help the national team.

"We hope he will play with us in the Eurobasket, after the summer league in Las Vegas he will come back to Israel. We will sit together and decide, I love him very much and I will not enter a confrontation with him," said Zvika Sherf when talaking about the possibility of having Casspi in his squad.
