The Houston Rockets superstar James Harden decided to pass on FIBA World Cup in order to better prepare for the coming NBA season, Brian Windhorst of the ESPN reports.

Harden will use his time to adapt to playing alongside newcomer Russell Westbrook who arrived to Houston via a trade.

Recently, another Team USA star Anthony Davis has also announced he will not play for the national team in China.

The United States will start the World Cup in Group E alongside Czech Republic, Japan and Turkey.
