The director of the basketball section of Real Madrid, Juan Carlos Sanchez, confirmed the departure of Gustavo Ayon.

Here is what Sanchez told Real Madrid TV, per Marca:

“For personal reasons, he has decided to look for his future outside Real Madrid and Europe.”

Sanchez also thanked the Mexican center, who joined the team in 2014, for everything he accomplished during his time with the “Whites”.

Ayon averaged 8.3 points, six rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 steals in the 2018/19 EuroLeague.
