Tomas JanusauskasGuildford Heat has reached new heights by signing 7′ 0” centre, Tomas Janusauskas. Janusauskas joined the BBL last season, playing for London Capitals.

The 25 year-old Lithuanian will be entering his third season as a professional player.  In addition to London Capitals, he has also played for C.B. Daimiel in Spain and bc Bremena in the Lithuanian national league. At London Capitals his stats for 25 games were 18.4ppg, Reb-2(9.8rpg), 1.6apg, FGP: 53.4%, FT: 65.8%.

According to the Heat’s head coach, Creon Raftopoulos, “Tomas first came to my attention when he was playing for London Capitals – he put up good numbers there. He ranks in the top five in rebounds and, during last seaon, shot a high field goal percentage.

“I was keen to sign him as I felt that he would fit perfectly in the rotation with Mike Martin and James Porter.Having a genuine seven footer allows us to match up properly with teams and will also cause mismatches for other teams.”

Tomas Janusauskas added, “I started training with the Heat last week and am already loving it! I am impressed by the hard work we are all putting in. From what I’ve seen so far, the team has great potential to really make our mark on the BBL this season and I’m looking forward to playing our first home game next weekend.”

The first BBL home game of the season, Guildford Heat v Worthing Thunder, takes place at Surrey Sports Park on 25 September at 7.00pm. For further information or to book tickets, visit www.guildfordheat.com.
