The contract of Cajasol's Head Coach, Joan Plaza was to expire in summer 2011. The club's officials however seem to appreciate the work that is being done by Plaza so they offered him an extension until the summer of 2012.
"Eight months ago, I wasn't thinking that they would offer me an extension" said Plaza who accepted the club's proposal.
After 25 gamedays and only 9 short of the playoffs, Cajasol occupies fifth place in the ACB, just one victory behind Valencia, with 15-10.
