FIBA officially announced on Tuesday (09/04) they have extended the final date of the domestic league playoffs from June 8 to June 12, 2020.

Per the Federation’s statement:

“Following a request from ULEB (Union of European Basketball Leagues), the FIBA Central Board has agreed to extend the final date of the 2019-20 domestic league season playoffs from June 8, 2020, to June 12, 2020.

Considering the earlier-than-usual dates of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (July 24-August 9, 2020), the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs) will be organized in accordance with the dates authorized by the International Olympic Committee, from June 23-28, 2020. ULEB’s request sought to accommodate the final days of playoff series, in particular for leagues featuring 18 clubs.”
