Frak HolmesFrank Holmes of the Marshall MK Lions was the star man of the BBL Team of the Week # 9 after his side's 102-54 hammering of PAWS London Capital.

The American forward poured in 32 points in 35 minutes of action as Vince Macauley's team ran riot against the Londoners. Holmes converted 14 of his 19 two point attempts and four of his five free-throws, and added 13 rebounds, a block and a steal to help Lions to victory.

The result, together with Saturday's 29-point victory, means that the Lions are now second in the table hot on the heels of Sheffield Sharks.

Sharks have two players in this week's team, guard Mike Cook and centre Tafari Toney. Cook had a stunning weekend as Sharks outlasted Everton Tigers to win 99-90 in overtime to progress to the BBL Cup semi-final before beating Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders 104-99 in the BBL Championship game.

Cook finished with 41 points off a 16 from 22 shooting night against Tigers to gain his nomination, as well as dishing out four assists and pulling down as many boards in 42 minutes of action.

Clearly that effort did not tire the American, and he played all 40 minutes the following night at Leicester as Sharks won the rehearsal for the semi-final. He drained all four of his three-point efforts as he scored 32 points and added seven boards and five assists for Atiba Lyons' team.

Great Britain international Toney, known as Tap, gained his nomination for his display at Leicester where he finished an 18 point, 16 rebound double-double as well as swatting away two shots in 36 minutes.

He was equally impressive the previous night with 17 points and 14 boards as Sharks defeated the Tigers.

Toney's former Newcastle team-mate Charles Smith joins him the team as Eagles produced a strong second half performance to defeat Airwaves Plymouth Raiders 101-87.

Forward Smith hit five of either three point attempts on the way to 23 points as well as collecting seven rebounds and providing five assists.

The team is completed by Cheshire Jets guard Chez Marks whose 26 points helped Paul Smith's team maintain their title hopes with a 97-73 win against Worthing Thunder.

Marks was also in form from outside the arc as he fit four three-pointers as well as dishing out three assists and collecting four boards.
