Linas KleizaLithuanian international forward Linas Kleiza is already impressing everyone after just two games with Olympiacos and has already won his first ward for his performance, winning the Greek A1 Gameday 1 MVP award.

Kleiza had an excellent game against Aris away, in one of the hardest arenas to play in Europe and accumulated 24 points (8/9 FT 8/10 2FG), 8 rebounds (6 def – 2 off), 5 drawn fouls in 27 minutes pf playing time.

Kleiza topped the media voting for the Gameday 1 MVP with 79 votes. The player who was delighted stated:

"Of course it is great for everyone to perform well and get awarded for it but the best things for me is that my team won. Our aim is to improve game by game and we are ready for our next opponent but mainly for the 'title' games. It is still early in the season and one thing is for sure, we can improve even more. On the other hand it is very positive that we win our games, especially against tough opponents. The atmosphere in the arena was fantastic, so was our opponent, and that makes our win even more important. Personally I do whatever my coach asks me to do in order to help the team achieve its goals. It so happened that I was the top scorer in the first two games but this means nothing. Someone who plays for a little time can give the team more than someone who plays in the entire game."

Jamie Arnold (Peristeri) was voted second with 39 votes.
