The Germans came back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter (51-63) and went on a 14-0 run to take the lead (65-63). After that, it was a late thriller (71-71), with Koponen becoming the hero and keeping his team alive in the play-off race (73-71).

Koponen and Devin Booker led the way for the winners, with 14 points apiece. On the other hand, five players scored in double figures for the losing squad, as Thomas Heurtel and Ante Tomic had 13 points apiece.

Bayern Munich improved to 13-15 and is one win away from the play-off zone, whereas Barcelona dropped to 16-12 and will finish fifth in the standings.
