Pau Gasol spoke with the Spanish edition of the NBA and referred to his decision to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Here is what the two-time NBA champion told NBA Spain:
On joining the Bucks: “It’s another challenge. I am a very competitive player and I want to contribute, I want to win.
I do not know how many more seasons I can play, so I want to take advantage of every second, every minute. When the Bucks opportunity appeared both parties were very excited.”
On adapting to the team: “The Bucks are a great team, they have the best balance in the league this season and an important opportunity to be able to fight for the championship.
It is a very talented team, both the players and the technical staff. They are in a sweet moment, chemistry is palpable, it is seen. I wanted to be part of this team and contribute my seniority and leadership to the team, especially in the face of the end of the season.”
On the possibility of facing the Toronto Raptors and his brother, Marc, in the Eastern Conference Finals: “Today is a possibility. Our teams are first and second in the Conference, but there is no reason to take it for granted. I focus on our team and go step by step.
To finish in good time the regular season to arrive in good time to the playoffs, and then worry about the first round.”
