Guildford HeatHeat Head Coach Chad McKnight's busy off-season continues. Hot on the heels of signing Mike Martin, Chad has secured the services of Daniel Sandell for another season. Re-signing the free-scoring Daniel, who made such an impact off the bench last season, has been one of Chad's off-season priorities. Talking about the importance of getting Daniel back, Chad said:

"I am glad Daniel signed back for us this year, he played tough for us last year. He is a hard worker, plays defence and can consistently knock down his jump shots. He will fit great into our new style of play this season."

Daniel will once again play a major part in the Heat's behind-the-scenes coaching. He will be a key part of the Heat Community Programme, coaching at a grass- roots level across the county. Speaking about Daniel's appointment, Ruth Fettes, the Heat's Director of Operations, said:

"I am delighted to have Daniel back in the side. He works extremely hard on and off the court and was an asset to the club last season. Chad and I worked really hard to get Daniel back and were delighted when he committed to the club for another year. His dedication as a player and the enthusiasm he brings to the Heat Community Programme are outstanding." Daniel himself is up for the challenge ahead.

Speaking after putting pen to paper to sign his new contract, Daniel said:

"I am very excited to be playing with Chad and Mike (Martin) again. I loved playing in Guildford last year and look forward to playing for all the great fans we have."
