Tornike ShengeliaA couple of days ago Premiata Montegranaro announced a three year deal with the Georgian prospect Tornike Shengelia. It seems however that the player was not a free agent afterall. Montegranaro issued a new statement on the matter.
"SS Sutor, on response to the position of the club Pamesa Valencia regarding the athlete Tornike Shengelia, wishes to clarify that an agreement has been reached with the player and his representatives only to take effect after the insection of the termination letter.

We do not wish to enter in any problematic situations that may exist between the player, his representative and Valencia, and indeed we would like to underscore the excellent relations existing between the two clubs. Sutor and Valencia are in continuous contact in order to clarify positions and situations.

This is why SS Sutor will at the moment not require any letter of clearance by FIBA for the player, but will only do so if and when the contractual situation of the player is clarified.

It is evident that if there is a different situation of what we were assured of – the status of "free agent" – it will lead to the automatic renounciation of the player and the review of the damage that this decision would entail."
