Darussafaka head coach Selcuk Ernak confirmed that point guard Ray McCallum will leave the cub.
Here is what coach Ernak told reporters in the post-game press conference, following the loss to Anadolu Efes (82-68):
“We really need our Turkish players in the EuroLeague and the Turkish League. Them playing only in the Turkish League and not playing in the EuroLeague at all does not seem realistic to me in terms of their development.
McCallum will not be with us any longer and his minutes will be distributed to our young players. Those minutes will be used to our Turkish players’ benefit. With our budget, it is not easy to make a transfer without one of the players leaving.”
McCallum has averaged 9.4 points, 4.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 16 EuroLeague games.
