The Serbian Basketball Federation announced that Nikola Jokic was named the 2018 Serbian Player of the Year.

Jokic received 28 votes and earned the first place, surpassing Bogdan Bogdanovic, Miroslav Raduljica and Vasilije Micic.

“I’m sorry I’m not with you personally to receive the prize. I have been training for many years to become the best player in Serbia.

I hope that I will provide even better games to justify this. Big greetings to everyone. See you,” said the Joker via a video message.

The 24-year-old center averaged 17.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 6.1 assists last season.

He is currently averaging 19.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 7.6 assists, leading the Denver Nuggets to the first place in the Western Conference (28-12).
