The San Antonio Spurs rallied past the Detroit Pistons (107-119) and Gregg Popovich tied Jerry Sloan for third place in the career wins list.
Coach Popovich now has 1.221 victories and needs one more to surpass Sloan. He is now trailing only Don Nelson and Lenny Wilkens.
This was also the 518th victory on the road for Popovich, who surpassed Nelson and climbed to the second place on the respective list. He is now just two behind leader Pat Riley (520).
The Spurs extended their winning streak to five games and are now standing at 24-17.
