Euroleague Basketball has announced that the 2010-11 Eurocup season will culminate with the Eurocup Finals in one of the continent’s strongest basketball markets, Treviso, Italy, on April 16 and 17.
The newest Eurocup champion will be crowned at the 5.144-seat Palaverde in Treviso, the home court of one this season’s Eurocup participants from Italy, Benetton Basket Bwin. The two-day, four-team tournament will feature semifinals on Saturday, April 16 leading to the next day’s title game, whose winner will not only lift the Eurocup trophy, but also qualify for the following season’s Turkish Airlines Euroleague!
The Palaverde built in 1983 is the home court of Bennetton Basket Bwin and Sisley Volley and also has the capacity to host concerts and spectacles. The Palaverde is property of Verdesport S.P.A. the operative part of the Benetton Group. Verdesport works in the promotion of sport in the province of Treviso through many initiatives developed in the sports and educational complex of “La Ghirada”. Some of the projects developed by Verdesport are the 3×3 Basket Join the Game for kids, summoning 35.000 kids form around Italy, the Summerleague or the Master SBS in sports Bussines and many “community cares”.
The Eurocup is enjoying its ninth season as Treviso becomes the fourth host city for the crowning of the competition’s champion. The title game was held four times, between 2004 and 2007, in Charlerloi, Belgium, in Turin, Italy for the 2008 and 2009 editions , and in Vitoria, Spain last year.
