Maccabi Tel-Aviv survived Hapoel Beer Sheva in the third round of the Israeli League (66-64) and maintained its perfect record (3-0).

John DiBartolomeo was the best player for the winners, with 22 points and seven rebounds. Alex Tyus added 10 points and six boards. Maccabi played without Jeremy Pargo and Scottie Wilbekin.

Semaj Christon had a team-high 18 points for the losing squad, while Travis Warech contributed 14. Hapoel suffered their first defeat in the season (2-1).

The hosts were down by seven at halftime (32-39), yet they outscored their opponents 25-7 in the third quarter to take a double-digit lead (57-46). The visitors, though, came back and went on a 9-18 run to cut the deficit to two (66-64).

However, they missed crucial opportunities to tie the game and force an overtime and, consequently, Maccabi stood tall and were victorious.
